Weiter geht's mit dem Juni-Kit

Hier kommen meine nächsten Layouts mit dem Juni-Kit - some further layouts with the June kit:

 

Title: Anton says it's poisonous

Journaling: That's why Pauline should under no circumstances eat dandelions. Probably she had no intention to do so anyway, as there was enough grass. Nevertheless she went over to a less dangerous plant. Whether this was due to Anton's warning is questionable. In any case Pauline obviously enjoyed being outside again.

Das Juni-Kit von Dani Peuss...

... wurde gerade vorgestellt, ist superschön, und ich durfte es schon vorab verarbeiten :-)

So sieht es aus:

The Dani Peuss June kit (see above) has just been released. It is gorgeous, and I could actually work with it ahead of time :-)


Danis Kits habe ich schon ziemlich lange abonniert, und da hab ich mich gefreut wie ein Schnitzel, als ich die Anfrage bekam, ob ich Gastdesignerin für das Juni-Kit sein wollte.

Aber gerne doch, und ich war natürlich sehr gespannt auf das Kit. Eine tolle Sache bei Kits ist meiner Meinung nach, dass man auch mal Materialien dabei hat, die man sich einfach so vielleicht nicht gekauft hätte und/oder mit denen man nicht so viel anzufangen weiß. Wenn man dann aber mal rumprobiert, freundet man sich meist doch damit an - siehe auch weiter unten mein Layout zum Thema Washi.

Bei diesem Kit musste ich mich nicht erst anfreunden, es war ganz nach meinem Geschmack. Die enthaltene Goldfolie war zwar neu für mich, aber dank Anregungen im Forum war die Verarbeitung ganz einfach. 

Bisher habe ich 9 Layouts mit dem Kit gemacht, und es ist noch Material übrig für ein weiteres. Heute zeige ich euch schonmal die ersten drei, und die anderen folgen dann in den nächsten Tagen.



I have subscribed to the kit for a quite a while now and was therefore thrilled to bits when I was asked to be the guest designer for the June kit.

Or course I said yes and I was very curious what it would be like. In my opinion one of the great things about kits is the fact that you sometimes get supplies which otherwise you wouldn't have bought or for which you don't have ideas immediately. But if you just try them out chances are that you like them - see my layout on washi tape below.

There was no need for trying out here, as the kit was full of things I like. The gold foil was new for me, but thanks to ideas shown in the forum it was really easy to use it.


So far I have created 9 layouts with the kit and I still have enough material left for one more. Today I show you the first three, and the others will follow in the next few days.

 

Bei dem Washi-Layout habe ich mit einem Kleberoller, der Punkte klebt,  hier und da ein paar Streifen aufgebracht und diese dann mit der Folie vergoldet.

On the washi layout I used the gold foil on a few strips of dotted glue applied with a glue roller.

Title: Love at second sight

Journaling: My first roll of washi tape was in a kit and it didn't appeal to me at all. As you can see my opinion on washi tape has changed a tiny bit...

Übrigens habe ich von den Tapes in der Schale zig Fotos gemacht, unter anderem mit einer türkisen Innenschale, die normalerweise dazugehört, damit ich ein bisschen Farbauswahl hatte. Das hat sich aber mit dem Papier gebissen. (Nicht-Scrapper würden jetzt wahrscheinlich mit den Augen rollen.)

I actually took lots of photos of the tapes in the bowl, including some with the turquoise inside bowl which is normally a part of it for some extra choice of colours. It turned out that it didn't look good with the paper. (People who don't scrapbook would probably roll their eyes now.)

 

Journaling: According to the recommended age for reading these books I am not really part of the target audience (by just a little bit), but as per Picasso it takes a lot of time to become young. So far I have not been asked for my ID when buying books, so I simply read them.

 

Diese leckeren Cupcakes aus Kathy's Cupcakery haben wir kürzlich bei einem Crop gegessen, und gleich danach entstand dieses Layout.

Den "love"-Schriftzug und die kleinen  Herzen habe ich mit der Goldfolie gemacht. Hierzu habe ich mit einem Laserdrucker eine schwarze Fläche ausgedruckt, die Folio draufgelegt und das Ganze (mit einem zweiten Blatt Papier abgedeckt) dann durchs Laminiergerät geschickt. Die folienbedeckte Fläche wurde dann vergoldet und anschließend hab ich die Teile ausgestanzt.

Journaling: I had ordered mini cupcakes from Kathy's Cupcakery for "Crop im Weinberg". Delivered by Emilie and declared good by everyone

I used the gold foil for the "love" piece and the little hearts. I printed a black box with a laser printer, put the foil over it, covered it with another piece of paper and ran it through a laminator. The foil-covered area was then golden and I die-cut it.

Watercolour embellishments

What do you do with your cardstock scraps if they are too small to use on layouts or cards but to large to throw away? With patterned papers it's easier and I usually punch different shapes from them, but that did not seem the perfect choice for cardstock. So I took out my good old watercolours and painted some shapes - deliberately not straight - and cut them out. I do love ready-made die cuts, but they can be quite expensive and often you just don't have the right colour. So I decided to give it a try.

Was macht ihr mit Cardstockresten, die zu klein sind für Layouts oder Karten, aber zu groß für den Mülleimer?  Bei gemustertem Paier finde ich das viel einfacher und stanze normalerweise verschiedene Formen daraus, aber bei Cardstock war das irgendwie nix. Also hab ich meinen guten alten Farbkasten rausgekramt und ein paar Formen aufgemalt, ohne Anspruch auf grade Linien, und ausgeschnitten. Ich mag fertige Die Cuts echt gerne, aber die sind nun mal nicht grade günstig, und oft braucht man auch mal grade eine andere Farbe. Also los...

Zu jedem Kauf kommt noch das Porto hinzu. Bei Paketen wären das 4,69 EUR mit Hermes oder 5,99 EUR mit DHL. Luxemburg müsste ich nachschauen, aber da ginge wohl auch eine persönliche Übergabe. Andere Länder sind leider nicht möglich. Bei Interesse hinterlasst bitte einen Kommentar.

Postage will be added for each sale. For parcels his would be 4,69 EUR with Hermes or 5,99 EUR with DHL. Luxembourg to be confirmed, but probably personal delivery could be arranged. A rare event

There was a partial solar eclipse in central Europe yesterday. At first we thought the weather was not ideal, but it turned out that the clouds actually came in handy for taking photos. When the clouds were actually gone I couldn't take good photos with my small camera unless through the eclipse glasses (and the quality of these is - well...) But here's one with some clouds around.

Gestern gab es in Mitteleuropa eine partielle Sonnenfinsternis. Zuerst dachen wir noch, das Wetter wäre nicht besonders, aber es stellte sich heraus, dass die paar Wolken doch zum Fotografieren ganz nützlich waren. Wenn die Wolken doch mal weg waren, konnte ich mit meiner kleinen Kamera höchstens durch die Sofi-Brille Fotos machen (und die waren so naja...) Aber hier ist eins durch die Wolken:

 

Another rare event is me using brand new photos on a layout. But I did manage to make on yesterday based on a "Finally Friday" sketch shown at the danipeuss.de forum.

Eine weitere Seltenheit ist es, dass ich mal ein Layout mit ganz aktuellen Fotos mache. Gestern hab ich es dann doch mal geschafft, als ich bei "Endlich Freitag" im Danipeuss-Forum einen Sketch umgesetzt habe:

 

 

Cards, cards, cards

I love the banner and "Happy Birthday" stamps (Scrapwerk) and the "Hallo" stamp (Barbara Haane), which were part of sets sold at CAR. They will be used often in future.

Den Banner-Stempel und das Happy Birthday (Scrapwerk) sowie den Hallo-Stempel (Barbara Haane) finde ich supertoll. Die Sets wurden jeweils beim CAR verkauft und werden sicher in Zukunft noch oft zum Einsatz kommen.

And then some more or less work-related news - we are spending lunch breaks making cards for a good cause again. For obvious reasons they are not Christmas-themed this time. Here's the first batch - the first two are my sample cards, and the others were made by my colleagues.

Und dann noch ein paar Neuigkeiten von der Arbeit - wir tun's schon wieder und schlagen uns die Mittagspausen mit Kartenbasteln für einen guten Zweck um die Ohren. Aus naheliegenden Grunden sind es diesmal keine Weihnachtskarten. Hier kommt der erste Rutsch - die beiden ersten sind meine Musterkarten, den Rest haben meine Kolleginnen gemacht:

CAR - I did it again

From 27 February to 1 March I was back in Remagen for "Crop am Rhein", an event organised by Barbara Haane. It was held for the 7th time and my 4th time to attend. As usual it was great to meet other scrapbookers, either again (hi Mel :-) or for the first time (hi Ela :-) and we had lots of fun creating and scrapping/chatting the night away, such as until 3:40 am on Sunday morning.

Vom 27. Februar bis 1. März war ich wieder zum "Crop am Rhein" in Remagen, den Barbara Haane organisiert hat. Er fand zum 7. Mal statt, und ich war zum 4. Mal dabei. Wie immer war es toll, andere Scrapbooker zu treffen, entweder wieder (hallo Mel :-) oder zum ersten Mal (hallo Ela :-) und wir hatten mächtig Spaß beim Werkeln und bis in die Nacht hinein Scrappen und Quasseln, am Sonntag Morgen sogar bis 3:40 Uhr.

There were various workshops held by Paige Evans, Olga Heldwein, Nina Menden and Barbara Haane. Depending on how personal the completed projects are I will or will not share them here. The minibooks from Nina's and Barbara's classes are not completed yet and the layouts from Paige's workshops will remain in my album only, but here's the canvas I made in Olga's workshop.

Es gab verschiedene Workshops mit Paige Evans, Olga Heldwein, Nina Menden und Barbara Haane. Je nachdem, wie privat meine fertigen Sachen sind, werde ich sie hier zeigen oder auch nicht. Die Minialben aus Ninas und Barbaras Workshops sind noch nicht fertig und die Layouts aus Paiges Workshops sind nur für mein Album, aber hier ist schonmal die Leinwand aus Olgas Workshop:
