Scraptasche für den Tisch

Hier ist sie, meine Scraptasche für den Tisch, kurz die ScraTiTa. Damit macht es hier auch mal wieder RUMS.

Here's my new scrapbooking helper:

Los ging es mit einem Haftnotizzettel- man beachte die hochprofessionelle Schnittkonstruktion. It all started with a sticky note - very sophisticated pattern design method:

Natürlich ist das nur Gekrakel, aber da das nur Rechtecke sind, geht es schon. Die Tasche besteht aus Canvas, verstärkt mit Soft & Stable bzw. Vlieseline H250 für die Seitenteile.

As the pattern (almost) only needs rectangular pieces it's reasonably easy. The bag is made of canvas with Soft & Stable for structure. The side parts are lined with thin but sturdy fusible interfacing. I used the pieces shown below.

Für mein Beispiel habe ich folgende Teile zugeschnitten: 

Bei meinem Beispiel haben die Teile die unten genannten Größen. Die Teile 1-7 sind für die Außentasche, 8 - 11 für die Innentasche. Angegeben ist jeweils Breite mal Höhe.

My pieces were cut as per the measurements below. Pieces 1-7 are for the outer bag, 8 - 11 for the inner bags. Measurements are indicated as width x height.

1 - 30 x 20 cm, Vorder- und Rückteil, zweimal aus Canvas zuschneiden (12 x 8", cut twice from canvas for front and back)

2 - 28 x 18 cm, Verstärkung für Vorder- und Rückteil, zweimal aus Soft & Stable zuschneiden (11 1/2 x 7 1/2", cut twice from Soft & Stable for front and back)

3 - 30 x 15 cm, Boden, einmal aus Canvas zuschneiden (12 x 6", cut once from canvas for bottom)

4 - 28 x 13 cm, Verstärkung für Boden, einmal aus Soft & Stable zuschneiden (11 1/2 x 5 1/2", cut twice from Soft & Stable)

5 - 40 x 30 cm, Außentaschen, zweimal aus Canvas zuschneiden (16 x 12", cut twice from canvas for outside pockets)

Die Teile 5 werden dann einmal gefaltet, so dass ein Teil in der Größe 40 x 15 cm entsteht. Der Bruch liegt oben. Die Seiten laut der Schemazeichnung abschrägen.

The two pieces 5 are folded once, each then measuring 16 x 6" with the fold line at the top. Cut down the sides as shown below. The lower edge must then measure 12".

6 - 15 x 20 cm, Seitenteile, zweimal aus Canvas zuschneiden (6 x 8", cut twice from canvas for sides)

7 - 14 x 19 cm, Verstärkung für Seitenteile, zweimal aus H250 zuschneiden (5 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches cut from fusible interfacing)

8 - 30 x 20 cm, Vorder- und Rückteil, zweimal aus Canvas zuschneiden (12 x 8", cut twice from canvas for front and back)

9 - 30 x 15 cm, Boden, einmal aus Canvas zuschneiden (12 x 6" cut once from canvas for bottom)

10 - 30 x 20 cm, Aufsatztaschen innen, zweimal aus Canvas zuschneiden (12 x 8", cut twice for canvas for inside pockets)

11 - 15 x 20 cm, Seitenteile, zweimal aus Canvas zuschneiden (6 x 8", cut twice from canvas for sides)

Außerdem braucht man noch etwas Gurtband (hier 2,5 cm breit) und Gummiband (hier 1,5 cm breit).

You will also need belt webbing (1" wide) and elastic band (1/2" wide).

Leider habe ich die Arbeitsschritte nicht fotografiert, aber die sind relativ einfach, so dass ich das hoffentlich auch mit Worten erklären kann.

Unfortunately I didn't take photos while working, but the process is relatively easy so that I can hopefully explain everything without pictures.

Außentasche:

1. Die beiden Teile 2 mit Stylefix (doppelseitiger Kleber für Stoff) zentriert auf die linke Seite der Teile 1 kleben. Die Fixierung mit einer Naht folgt später in Schritt 4.

Use double sided tape for fabric to glue pieces no. 2 to the left side of pieces no. 1 (centered). This will be properly secured later, see step 4.

2. Teil 4 mit Stylefix zentriert auf die linke Seite von Teil 3 kleben und zwei Nähten über Kreuz von Ecke zu Ecke fixieren. Andere Muster gehen natürlich auch.

Tape piece no. 4 to the left side of piece no. 3. Secure this with two diagonal seams from corner to corner, or any other seam pattern of your choice.

3. Die abgeschrägten Teile 5 jeweils mit 1,5 cm Abstand parallel zur Bruchkante absteppen, damit ein Tunnel entsteht.  Durch diesen Tunnel ein Stück Gummiband ziehen (ca. 25 lang) und links und rechts mit ein paar Stichen fixieren.

Stich a seam 1/2" from and parallel to the fold line to create a tunnel. Pull a piece of elastic band (around 10" long) through the tunnel and secure the ends with a few stitches.

4. Die beiden vorbereiteten Teile 5 mit der Unterkante bündig links auf rechts auf die Teile 1 auflegen und die Unterkanten knappkantig zusammennähen. In der Mitte mit einer senkrechten Naht fixieren, dadurch entstehen dann später zwei Außentaschen. Hierbei das Gummiband gleichmäßig verteilen. Dann die Seitenkanten von Teil 5 an die Seitenkanten von Teil 1 annähen. Vorder- und Rückenteil der Außentasche sind jetzt fertig.

Put the pieces no. 5 on the pieces no. 1 (left on right) so that the bottom edges are flush. Secure them with a seam along the bottom edge. Stitch a vertical line through the centre to create to inside pockets. Make sure that the elastic band is evently arranged. Then stitch the side edges of pieces no. 5 to the side edges of pieces no. 1. Front and back of the outer bag are now complete.

5. Die Unterkante eines Teils 1 links auf links an eine der langen Kanten von Teil 3 nähen, dabei am Nahtanfang und -ende je 1 cm vor dem Rand stoppen. Die andere lange Kante von Teil 3 links auf links ebenso an die Unterkante des zweiten Teils 1 nähen. So ergibt sich aufgefaltet ein langes Stück wie links auf meiner Zeichnung auf dem Haftnotizzettel abgebildet. Im weiteren Verlauf nenne ich dieses Teil jetzt einfach mal die Hülle, die verbindendenden Nähte die Bodennähte.

Stitch the bottom edge of one piece no. 1 left on left to one of the long edges of piece no. 3.  Leave 3/8" unstitched at both ends. Stitch the other long edge of piece no. 3 left on left to the bottom edge of the second piece no. 1 in the same way. When unfolded this will result in a long piece as shown on the left of my sticky note above. I will refer to this as the "shell" when describing further steps, the seams will be called "bottom seams".

6. Die beiden Teile 7 auf die linke Seite der Teile 6 bügeln. 

Iron the to pieces no. 7 to the left side of pieces no. 6.

7. Eine Seitenkante von Teil 6 links auf links an eine Seitenkante der Hülle nähen, hierbei liegt Teil 6 oben und die Hülle unten. An der Oberkante beginnen und 1 cm vor der ersten Bodennaht stoppen. Die Nadel im Stoff stecken lassen, die Stoffteile so zurecht legen, dass jetzt die Unterkante von Teil 6 bündig an der Kante der Hülle zwischen den Bodennähten liegt. Auch hier wieder 1 cm vor der nächsten Bodennaht stoppen. Nadel stecken lassen, drehen und die verbleibende Seitenkante von Teil 6 an den noch verbliebenen Teil der Seite der Hülle nähen.

Stitch one side edge of a piece no. 6 left on left to one of the side edges of the shell. Make sure that piece no. 6 is on top. Start at the upper edge and stop around 3/8" from the first bottom seam. Leave the needle in the fabric and turn the fabric pieces so that the lower edge of piece no. 6 is flush with the edge of the shell between the bottom seams. Stop 3/8" before the second bottom edge. As before, leave the needle in the fabric, turn it and stitch the remaining side edge of piece no. 6 to the remaining part of the shell.

8. Schritt 7 auf der anderen Seite der Hülle wiederholen. Ecken etwas abschrägen und das Teil so drehen, dass die rechte Stoffseite innen ist.

Repeat step 7 on the other side of the shell. Cut the excess fabric off the corners and turn the piece so that the right side of the fabric is facing in.

Innentasche:

9. Beide Teile 10 mittig so falten, dass sie dann 30 x 10 cm groß sind. Die Bruchkante knappkantig absteppen.

Fold both pieces no. 10 in the middle. They will then be 12" wide and 4" tall. Stich them together close to the fold line.

10. Die Teile 10 jeweils links auf rechts auf die Teile 8 legen. Hierbei sind die unten Kanten bündig und die abgesteppte Bruchkante zeigt nach oben. Die Unterkanten knappkantig zusammennähen. Auch hier können wieder senkrechte Teilungen angebracht werden. Bei meiner Tasche habe ich ein Teil mittig unterteilt, das andere gedrittelt. Wenn die Teilungsnähte angebracht sind, können Teile 10 noch an den Seitenkanten knappkantig an die Teile 10 genäht werden. Falls gewünscht kann zwischen der Oberkante von Teil 8 und der Aufsatztasche noch ein Gummiband an den Seiten und dort, wo die Teilungsnähte sind, fixiert werden. 

Put each of the pieces no. 10 left on right on a piece no. 8. The bottom edges must be flush and the stitched fold line is pointing up. Stitch the bottom edges together. You can add vertical seams as well to create smaller pockets. I stitched a vertical line in the centre for one piece no. 10 and two vertical lines 4" and 8" in for the other piece no. 10 to create three pockets.

11. An der Oberkante von Teil 8 Griffe aus Gurtband knappkantig auf die rechte Seite annähen. Wichtig: Die Griffe zeigen zur Unterkante! Vorder- und Rückenteil der Innentasche sind jetzt fertig.

Form two pieces of belt webbing and stitch them to the top edge of the right side of piece no. 8. Make sure the handles are facing towards the bottom edge of piece no. 8. Front and back of the inner bag are now complete.

12.  Die Teile 8 und Teil 9 zusammennähen wie oben in Schritt 5 beschrieben, das ergibt die Innenhülle. SEHR wichtig: an einer Bodennaht muss eine ca. 15 - 20 cm lange Wendeöffung gelassen werden!

Stitch pieces no. 8 and 9 together as described in step 5 above, which will create the inner shell. VERY important: Leave 6 - 8" open in one of the bottom seams to be able to turn the pieces later.

13.  Die Innenhülle mit den Teilen 11 verbinden wie oben in Schritt 7 beschrieben. Das Innenteil ist jetzt fertig.

Stitch the inner shell to pieces no. 11 as described in step 7 above. The inner bag is now complete.

14. Das Innenteil mit der rechten Seite nach außen wenden und dann rechts auf rechts in die Außentasche stecken. Oberkanten zusammenstecken und rundherum zusammennähen mit ca. 0,5 cm Abstand zum Rand.

Turn the inner back so that the right side is facing out and put it into the outer back (right on right). Clip/pin the upper edges together and stitch all around the upper edges about 1/4" from the edge.

15. Die Tasche wenden und die Wendeöffnung verschließen.

Turn the bag through the opening in the bottom seam and close the opening.

16. Auf Wunsch die obere Kante nochmal rundherum knappkantig absteppen - fertig :-)

Optional: Stitch around the upper edge one more - finished :-)

Als kleines Extragoodie habe ich noch aus zwei mit Soft & Stable verstärkten Canvasstücken (28 x 18 cm) und Gummiband einen Kleinteilehalter gemacht.

As a little add-on I made a this piece to hold small items out of two canvas pieces (11 1/2 x 7 1/2") lined with Soft & Stable and some more elastic band:

Hierzu habe ich erst das Soft & Stable (26 x 16 cm) mit Stylefix auf die linke Seite der Canvasstücke geklebt und dann das Gummiband aufgenäht.

I glued the Soft & Stable pieces to the left side of the canvas pieces and then stitched on the elastic band.

Anschließend habe ich die beiden Teile links auf links zusammengesteckt und mit Ausnahme einer Wendeöffnung an der unteren Kante rundherum zusammngenäht. Das Ganze habe ich dann gewendet und nochmal rundherum abgesteppt, was die Wendeöffnung schließt.

I then pinned the two pieces together left on left and stitched around, apart from an opening at the lower edge, then turned it inside out and stitched all around the edge, thus closing the opining.

Beispiele, wie man die Tasche mit Scrapzeug bestücken könnte - here's what it could look in use:
