Geburtstagskarten

Da die PLS-Papiere schonmal angeschnitten waren, habe ich zwei davon auch gleich zu Geburtstagskarten verarbeitet, da nähert sich mein Vorrat ohnehin seinem Ende. Die Papiere waren schon für sich sehr schön, deshalb hab ich nur noch ein paar Kleinigkeiten ergänzt - Nuvo Drops, Enamel Dots, Papierreste aus der Plus One-Kollektion, einen Crate Paper- und einen Schriftbild-Stempel.

Since I had already cut into the PLS papers I used two of them for birthday cards, which I am running out of. The papers are so pretty on their own, so I just added a few bits and pieces - Nuvo Drops, enamel dots, paper scraps from the Plus One collection, stamps from Crate Paper and Schriftbild.

Yeah!

Letztes Jahr habe ich ein Instagram-Giveaway von Pretty Little Studio gewonnen. Erfahren habe ich davon beim Crop am Rhein, daher fand ich es passend, ein CAR-Foto damit zu verscrappen - nachdem ich mich endlich mal dazu durchgerungen hatte, die Papiere anzuschneiden :-) Das Foto kommt auf meine diesjerigen CMCs. So früh habe ich noch nie mit den Vorbereitungen angefangen.

Last year I won a Pretty Little Studio giveaway on Instagram. When I learned about this I was at Crop am Rhein (CAR), so it seemed apprpriate to use a CAR photo with them once I had finally cut into the papers. The photo will go on this year's CAR memory cards. I have never started preparing these so early.

Außer den Papieren, Die Cuts und einem Button aus dem Giveaway habe ich noch diverse farblich passende Sachen aus meinem Bestand ergänzt. Das Hintergrundpapier ist, ebenso wie die Plotterdatei, von Paige Evans.

Hallo Lynn

Hier hat es schon eine Weile nicht mehr gerumst, es ist also Zeit für meine Lynn nach dem Schnittmuster von Pattydoo. Bei den Ösen habe ich irgendwas mit der Positionierung falsch gemacht, aber es geht ja noch. Leider hat die Vlieseline zur Verstärkung sich auch schon wieder von dem Wintersweat gelöst, so dass die Ösen wohl die Wäsche nicht überstehen werden. Ich hab aber schon eine Idee, wie ich das reparieren kann dank diverser Tipps in der Pattydoo-Facebookgruppe.

I haven't shown sewing stuff in a while, so here's my sweater with the "Lynn" pattern by Pattydoo. I somehow managed to set one of the eyelets in the wrong place but that's not too bad. Unfortunately the interfacing didn't stick well to the fabric so that the eyelets will probably not survive the next wash. But I have an idea on how I can fix this, thanks to the advice shared in the Pattydoo Facebook group.

Der Stoff ist vom holländischen Stoffmarkt. Eine Freundin hat sich den gleich Pulli in umgekehrten Farben genäht, so dass wir den Stoff für die Innenkapuze praktischerweise tauschen konnten.

I got the fabric on a Dutch fabric market. A friend made the same sweater with inverted fabrics so that we could simply swap pieces for the inside of the hood.

Warten aufs Christkind

Nach über zwei Jahren habe ich es dann doch mal geschafft, die Die Cuts aus der Wish Season-Kollektion von Fancy Pants auszugraben. Den Sternenhintergrund gibt es gratis als Cut File bei Paper Issues. 

After more than two years I finally managed to dig out the die cuts from the Fancy Pants "Wish Season" collection. The starry background is a free cut file from Paper Issues.

Reste und mehr Reste

Wenn viele Schnipsel auf dem Tisch rumliegen, sollte man mal aufräumen. Meine Papieraufbewahrung ist eigentlich recht simpel: Wenn sie zu Kits gehören, bleiben sie in ihren Tüten (die chronologisch in zwei Schubladen liegen), lose vollständige Papiere sind in einem Kallax-Einsatz von New Swedisch Designs und Reste in zwei Tüten - eine für Papiere mit voller 12"-Breite und eine für den Rest, egal wie groß oder klein. Demnach könnte ich also herumliegende Papierreste eigentlich immer schnell wegsortieren. Tu ich aber nicht, weiß der Geier warum.

If there are many scraps on the table it would be a good idea to tidy up. My paper storage is quite simple: Paper from kits remains in the kit bag (kept chronologically in a drawer), single full-size papers are in a Kallax insert by New Swedish Designs. Scraps are in two different bags, one for pieces with a full 12" width and one for everything else regardless of size. So I could actually put away leftovers quickly and easily. But I don't for some reasons.

Heute war ich auch zu faul, sie wegzuräumen, also habe ich ein bisschen rumgestanzt und geklebt und genäht. 

Today I was too lazy to tidy up again, so I punched and glued and sewed a bit.

Ach, und wenn die Nähmaschine schon mal zwei Minuten nicht drin ist, kann man die Tasche ja auch zweckentfremden, meint Pauline.

Oh, and while the sewing machine is not in its bag for two minutes the bag will make a nice bag, at least according to Pauline.

Be awesome

Auf einen Titel habe ich hier mal verzichtet, weil die Schrift auf dem Papier schon ziemlich ins Auge springt und auf dem Wood Veneer-Teilchen auch schon was steht. Das Foto hatte jetzt keinen besonderen Anlass, so dass ich mir das Journaling auch gespart habe. Dafür habe ich aber wieder einige ältere Materialien verbraucht - Papier und Embellishments von Pink Paislee, Embellishments von Heidi Swapp, Crate Paper und ich glaube Fancy Pants und die diversen Holzteile.

I didn't put a specific title on this layout, as the words on the paper are quite prominent already and the wood veneer piece has text, too. There was no specific occasion for this photo, so I left out the journaling as well. But I did use up some older items from my stash - paper and embellishments from Pink Paislee, embellishments from Heidi Swapp, Crate Paper and I think Fancy Pants as well as assorted wood veneer pieces.


Weil ich viel rumklecksen wollte, habe ich das komplette Papier mit transparentem Gesso vorbehandelt und dann mit Distress Ink & Spray Stain, Color Shine, Dylusions und IrRESISTtibles losgelegt. Von den Nuvo Drops und Enamel Accents konnte ich natürlich am Schluss auch wieder nicht die Finger lassen. Hinter dem Foto war ganz viel in Knallpink. Das hat mir dann aber nicht mehr gefallen, so dass hinter dem Foto mehr Papier ist als ursprünglich geplant. Shimelle Laine hat das in ihrem letzten Friday Live-Video ungefähr so ausgedrückt: "If you don't like something, add more."

As I wanted to use a lot of ink I covered the whole paper with clear gesso first and then started using Distress Ink and Spray Stain, Color Shine, Dylusions and IrRESISTtible sprays. Nuvo Drops and Enamel Accents just had to be added. There is a lot of hot pink behind the photo, which I didn't like, so there is more paper behind the photo than I originally planned. As Shimelle Laine said in her latest Friday Live video: "If you don't like something, add more."

Only believe in statistics you doctored yourself. But as long as they are suitable for a layout... This is about the statistics I got in an e-mail from Audible, so I am now "officially an audio bookworm".
